How to Apply to the
Parent Coach Certification® Program
We welcome your application for PCI parent coach training and certification. Candidates are accepted on a first come, first-serve basis and must meet the following criteria:
- A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with parents in either a paid or a volunteer capacity.
Application Deadlines for Parent Coach Certification® Program
Entrance into our parent coach training program is made four times a year. You may take advantage of our Early Entrance Policy at any time and receive your course materials several months before the start of your phone classes.
Applications must be received by March 1, Spring Quarter
for Phone Classes to Begin the End of March
Applications must be received by June 2, Summer Quarter
for Phone Classes to Begin the End of June
Applications must be received by September 7, Fall Quarter
for Phone Classes to Begin the End of September
Applications must be received by December 15, Winter Quarter
for Phone Classes to begin the third week of January.

Early Entrance Policy
You may enter the program one or more months before your phone classes begin.
Beginning your course of study several months before beginning the phone classes has several advantages:
- Time to read, reflect, and get going on the assignments at your own pace to feel well-prepared for the phone classes.
- Begin to know your group members, networking through e-mail and phone calls, enabling the sharing of resources and stories.
- Get a jump-start on practicing the coaching conversation and learning specific strategies that can assist in your work with parents immediately.
- Be well prepared for the course workshops.
3 Easy Steps for Applying to the PCI
Take these three easy steps to apply for Parent Coach Certification® through the PCI:
- Step 1

Submit the PCI Application along with the non-refundable application process fee. Within three weeks, submit official sealed transcripts and two letters of recommendation.

- Step 2

Qualified applicants will be called to participate in a phone interview with Gloria DeGaetano and the PCI Interview Team.
- Step 3

Successful candidates receive the PCI agreement form for review and submit two signed copies, along with the first payment, to the PCI. When agreement form and the first payment are received, all course materials are shipped. (International students pay an additional $75.00 for shipping.)
